The Boudoir

I have had fiction published on the Erotica Readers and Writers Association website, on A.F. Waddell’s Eklektika Press, as well as on my own short-lived `zine – Alchemica Erotica, known affectionately to contributors as A.E. Considering my literary and occultic predilections, this is very apt.

More Details

I am a writer, poet, occasional editor, student, singer, visual artist, dreamer, bohemian, idealist, rationalist, postcolonialist etc. I write erotica because I think it is a very necessary and vital aspect of literature which is very important to me. I’d like to find the middle line somewhere between a healthy sexuality and the angst which is ever present, the dark, opaque, rancid depths of the soul where so many things float and flounder and sink. This is why I write erotica. Also, the intersections between literary theory, philosophy and the vulnerability of human emotions and sexuality is – in my books at least – very sexy.

My literary heroes, for the curious: Anais Nin, James Joyce, D.H. Lawrence, Mary Anne Mohanraj, Salman Rushdie, Rabindranath Tagore, e.e. cummings, Pablo Neruda, Sylvia Plath and a whole lot more. Despite my oriental background, I do not like the kama sutra as I find it objectifies women to extents which shock me. Although I do draw inspiration from it when I choose to write about tormented sexuality, I neither condone nor approve of anything remotely non-consensual, or the idea that if a woman is alone or attractive she is to be claimed or owned.
